At Showmethereel, we recognize that privacy is important.
The following describes privacy practices specific to Showmethereel.
To understand how we treat the information you give us as you use Showmethereel,
please read this policy (“Policy”). Capitalized words used herein without definition shall have the meanings
ascribed to such terms in the Terms of Service found at http://showmethereel.com/terms.php,
and incorporated herein by reference.
Information sharing
Showmethereel only shares personal information with other companies or individuals outside of
Showmethereel in the following limited circumstances:
- We have your consent.
- We provide such information to our subsidiaries, affiliated companies or other trusted
businesses or persons for the purpose of processing personal information on our behalf.
We require that these parties agree to process such information based on our instructions and
in compliance with this Policy and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures.
- We have a good faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of such information
is reasonably necessary to (a) satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or
enforceable governmental request, (b) enforce applicable Terms of Service including
investigation of potential violations thereof, (c) detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud,
security or technical issues, or (d) protect against imminent harm to the rights, property or
safety of Showmethereel, its users or the public as required or permitted by law.
If Showmethereel becomes involved in a merger, acquisition, or any form of sale of some or all of its
assets, we will make reasonable efforts to provide notice if personal information is transferred and
becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Personal Information
- Non-Account Activity. You can watch videos on Showmethereel without having a
Showmethereel account. You can also contact us about a particular video without having a
Showmethereel account.
- Account-Related Activity. Certain other activities on Showmethereel—like uploading
videos, posting comments, flagging videos, or watching restricted videos—require you to have a
Showmethereel account. We ask for some personal information when you create a Showmethereel
account or, including your email address and a password, which is used to protect your account
from unauthorized access.
- Usage Information. We may record information about your usage, such as when you use
Showmethereel, the channels, groups, and favorites you subscribe to, the contacts you
communicate with, the videos you watch, and the frequency and size of data transfers, as well
as information you display or click on in Showmethereel (including UI elements, settings, and
other information). If you are logged in, we may associate that information with your account.
We may use clear GIFs (a.k.a. “Web Beacons”) in HTML-based emails sent to our users to track
which emails are opened by recipients.
- Content Uploaded to Site. Any personal information or video content that you voluntarily
disclose online (on discussion boards, in messages and chat areas, within your playback or
profile pages, etc.) becomes publicly available and can be collected and used by others.
Uses
- If you submit personally identifiable information to us through the Showmethereel website,
we use your personal information to operate, maintain, and provide to you the general and
personalized features and functionality of the Showmethereel Website, and to process any
flagging activity or correspondence you send to us.
- Your account name (not your email address) is displayed to other Users when you upload videos
or send messages through the Showmethereel Website and other Users can contact you through
messages and comments. Any videos that you submit to the Showmethereel Website may be
redistributed through the internet and other media channels, and may be viewed by the general
public.
- We do not use your email address or other personally identifiable information to send commercial
or marketing messages without your consent or except as part of a specific program or feature
for which you will have the ability to opt-in or opt-out. We may, however, use your email
address without further consent for non-marketing or administrative purposes (such as notifying
you of major Showmethereel Website changes or for customer service purposes).
- We use both your personally identifiable information and certain non-personally-identifiable
information (such as anonymous user usage data, cookies, IP addresses, browser type,
clickstream data, etc.) to improve the quality and design of the Showmethereel Website and to
create new features, promotions, functionality, and services by storing, tracking, analyzing,
and processing user preferences and trends, as well as user activity and communications.
- We use cookies, clear gifs, and log file information to: (a) store information so that you
will not have to re-enter it during your visit or the next time you visit the Showmethereel
Website; (b) provide custom, personalized content and information; (c) monitor the
effectiveness of our marketing campaigns; and (d) monitor aggregate metrics such as total
number of visitors, pages viewed, etc..
Your Choices
- You may, of course, decline to submit personally identifiable information through the Showmethereel
Website, in which case you can still view videos and explore the Showmethereel Website, but
Showmethereel may not be able to provide certain services to you.
- You may update or correct your personal profile information and email preferences at any time by
visiting your account.
Third-party Advertisers, Links to Other Sites
Showmethereel may allow other companies, called third-party ad servers or ad networks, to serve advertisements
within the Showmethereel Website. These third-party ad servers or ad networks use technology to send, directly
to your browser, the advertisements and links that appear on the Showmethereel Website. They automatically
receive your IP address when this happens. They may also use other technologies (such as cookies, JavaScript,
or Web Beacons) to measure the effectiveness of their advertisements and to personalize the advertising content
you see.
Showmethereel does not provide any personally identifiable information to these third-party ad servers
or ad networks without your consent or except as part of a specific program or feature for which you
will have the ability to opt-in or opt-out. However, please note that if an advertiser asks
Showmethereel to show an advertisement to a certain audience (for example, men ages 18-34) or audience
segment (for example, men ages 18-24 who have viewed certain channels of content) and you respond to
that advertisement, the advertiser or ad-server may conclude that you fit the description of the
audience they are trying to reach. The advertiser may also use information regarding your use of the
Showmethereel Website, such as the number of times you viewed an ad (but not any personally identifiable
information), to determine which ads to deliver to you.
You should consult the respective privacy policies of these third-party ad servers or ad networks for more
information on their practices and for instructions on how to opt-out of certain practices. Showmethereel’s
privacy policy does not apply to, and we cannot control the activities of, such other advertisers or web sites.
Information security
We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration,
disclosure or destruction of data. We restrict access to personal information to Showmethereel employees,
contractors and agents who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our services.
These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to discipline, including
termination and criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet these obligations.
We do not store any credit card information. All payments and credit card information shall be through
Authorize.Net. Showmethereel’s Terms of Service or this Privacy Notice does not does not apply to the use

Data integrity
Showmethereel processes personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected and in accordance
with this Policy or any applicable service-specific privacy notice. We review our data collection, storage and
processing practices to ensure that we only collect, store and process the personal information needed to
provide or improve our services. We take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we process
is accurate, complete, and current, but we depend on our users to update or correct their personal information
whenever necessary.
Changes to this Policy
Please note that this Policy may change from time to time. We will not reduce your rights under this Policy
without your explicit consent, and we expect most such changes will be minor. Regardless, we will post any Policy
changes on this page and, if the changes are significant, we will provide a more prominent notice (including, for
certain services, email notification of Policy changes). Each version of this Policy will be identified at the top
of the page by its effective date, and we will also keep prior versions of this Privacy Policy in an archive for
your review.
